On November 21st 2012, 12 millimetres of rain fell at Bracken House. Although this was the wettest day for almost two months, it is not unusual for November. The significance of this rainfall is that it pushes the yearly total up to a whopping 700 millimetres, way ahead of the 2011 total of 421 millimetres. Over 185 millimetres more has fallen in the year so far compared to the average for the year up to November 21st.

Despite this, November 2012 is still drier than average. With nine days to go, 29.2 millimetres of rain has been recorded, compared to an average for this time of the month of 54.5 millimetres. The first half of the month was much drier than average, with only 6.4 millimetres of rainfall.
