September 2020 was warmer than average (13.62°C versus an average of 13.37), drier than average (15.20 mm versus an average total of 43.80) and calmer than average (a wind run of 2079 miles versus an average of 2218).

The month was very warm until the last third when the temperatures tailed off. The highest temperature was 27.7°C recorded at 16:40 on the 15th. This was the third highest September temperature recorded here, and the highest September temperature since 28.4°C was recorded on September 13th 2016. The lowest temperature was recorded at 06:47 on the 28th when the thermometre fell to 2.3°C, the lowest September temperature ever recorded here. The average temperature for the month was 13.6°C, 0.2°C below the September average.. The average daily high temperature was 18.5°C, with the average daily low being 9.1°C. The warmest day was the 15th with an average temperature of 20.1°C and the coldest day was the 24th with an average temperature of 8.9°C.

The average wind chill in the month was 13.5°C and the average dew point was 10.4°C. The high dew point was 19.7°C recorded at 13:38 on the 8th. There were 159.48 hours of sunshine, 25.7 hours below the September average. The sunniest day was the 14th with 8.73 hours
