Today I joined the Camelot publicity team for an event to promote the Euromillions ‘one night, 100 millionaires’ draw to be held on Friday 27th July 2012. To celebrate the start of the 2012 Olympics, the National Lottery are making 100 millionaires.
I caught the train to Leicester to meet Jacquie Wilson, from Camelot, under the Clock Tower in the city centre. We had a Costa Coffee while the publicity team set up their stand.

The team were creating a ‘winners experience’ to give people an idea of what might happen if they won the lottery. There was a large golden wishbone for them to touch for luck, a throne for them to be photographed on with a dummy cheque, a white board for good luck messages and a see through plastic case containing £1,000,000 in £50 notes – not real ones, of course.
Members of the public were invited onto the stand for photos with the ‘press’ and this went down really we’ll with the Leicester locals.
After a few genuine press photos, in which I took part, Jacquie and I moved on to Sheffield where we had a quick drink while the team, who had followed us up the M1, set up their stand. The display wasn’t as popular with the Sheffield people, but more press photos were taken before Jacquie and I left.
After a well earned cup of tea at our house, Jacquie left for Northampton to prepare for the next day’s events.
