Welsh Mega Steam 4 was an eight-day holiday that I took between August 24th and 31st 2013 in which I toured the preserved railways of North and Central Wales. A group of 32 were on the trip, which was organised by Railtrail Tours<\/a>, and was the fourth year they had run the trip.<\/p>\n

Staying in university accommodation, and using a coach to visit the various sites, the itinerary for the tour was as follows:<\/p>\n

Day 1 –\u00a0Alfreton to Bangor via the Great Orme Tramway<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 2 –\u00a0Lakes and mountains<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 3 –\u00a0The long and the short<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 4 –\u00a0Bangor to Aberystwyth<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 5 –\u00a0Bridges and Tea with the Corris<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 6 –\u00a0The railway that inspired Thomas<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 7 –\u00a0Broken towel rail and proper trains<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 8 –\u00a0Homeward Bound<\/a><\/p>\n
